Master of Science in Technology and Design (Data Science)

Criteria for admission

There is one intake for the MTD (Data Science) programme each year in September.

Applicants should possess the following:

• At least a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline including Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, and other Applied Sciences;
• Students are expected to have knowledge of basic calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics. Familiarity with a programming language (Python or R) will be beneficial;
• Students whose language of instruction during undergraduate study is not English are required to present TOEFL-iBT (min. 85) or IELTS (min. 6.0) score report;
• Interested candidates with undergraduate degrees in an unrelated discipline may be considered on a case-by-case basis*;
• Related job experiences will be considered for admission.

Note: TOEFL / IELTS scores are valid for two years from the test date and should not have expired at the point of application. Expired scores will not be considered for the application.
* Applicants without a relevant degree can submit a resumé or portfolio highlighting your skills, abilities and experiences to augment your application.

All applications will be reviewed by the MTD admissions committee and their decision will be final.
