PhD Singapore Universities Student Exchange Programme (SUSEP)

The PhD Singapore Universities Student Exchange Programme (SUSEP) is a unique collaboration between four top universities in Singapore:

  • National University of Singapore (NUS)
  • Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
  • Singapore Management University (SMU)
  • Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)

This programme offers PhD students the opportunity to access a diverse range of postgraduate research courses across all four institutions, enriching your academic experience and expanding research possibilities.

Programme highlights
  • Enrol in courses* offered by partner universities
  • Earn academic credits upon successful course completion
  • Request credit transfer with home institution approval
  • Benefit from a wider network of academic mentors and peers

* Note: The deadline to withdraw from a course without penalty is before the end of Week 2 of the term.

Inbound students (NUS, NTU, SMU → SUTD)

Students from NUS, NTU, or SMU interested in taking SUTD courses must:

  1. Consult your PhD advisors before course registration
  2. Obtain official approval from your home institution
  3. Ensure no schedule conflicts with your current coursework

Outbound students (SUTD NUS, NTU, SMU)

SUTD students wishing to take courses at NUS, NTU, or SMU must:

  1. Consult with your PhD advisors
  2. Secure approval from your PhD supervisor
  3. Ensure course schedules do not conflict with SUTD classes
