SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP)

SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) supports mid-career individuals in acquiring industry-relevant skills to improve employability and pivot to new sectors or job roles. It is a train-and-place programme with SUTD Academy's employment facilitation and career mentorship that is available on a part-time or full-time format, ranging from three to 12 months.

Key Benefits:

  • Enroll for industry-relevant courses in sectors with good hiring opportunities such as Infocomm and Technology, Professional Services and Advanced Manufacturing

  • Flexibility of part-time or full-time courses

  • Modular training courses of three to 12 months duration

  • Employment facilitation services and career advisory to enhance your employment prospects

Who Can Apply:

  • Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, and Long-Term Visit Pass-Plus (LTVP+) Holders

  • Limited to self-sponsored individuals (regardless unemployed or employed) who are looking to find / switch jobs, i.e. individuals who are paying the nett course fees themselves and not sponsored by their employers

  • At least 21 years old

​Under the SCTP scheme, trainees are encouraged to complete all modules to fully benefit from the intent of the programme. Similar to existing requirements for other training grants administered by SSG, trainees must fulfill minimum attendance requirements and pass the assessments to qualify for course fee subsidies. Trainees who are unable to meet these requirements, or exit the programme without a valid reason, may be asked to return the course fee subsidy that they have received, including any additional course fee funding support.

(SCTP) ModularMaster Certificate in Data Science (Programming)

Learners can choose from a selection of data science modular programmes offered by SUTD Academy. These courses ensure relevance and application to the industry, and offer a rigorous data science curriculum to help busy professionals to achieve the ModularMaster in Data Science credential.

For the ModularMaster in Data Science (Programming) pathway, learners can mix and stack modules the way that best fit their learning goals as long as they add up to 72 subject credits within 2 years of taking the ModularMaster in Data Science (Programming).

If you have not decided on pursuing the ModularMaster, you can always take up individual modules that are the most relevant to your learning goals.

(SCTP) Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics (Programming)

Completing the (SCTP) Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics (Progamming) is a pathway to attaining the (SCTP) ModularMaster in Data Science (Programming) certificate.

SkillsFuture course fee funding support for SCTP programmes:

  • Baseline subsidy of up to 70% of course fees

  • Enhanced funding subsidy of up to 90% of course fees for Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above under SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy

  • Additional course fee funding support of up to 95% of course fees for jobseekers with greater needs. Individuals must be Singapore Citizens and meet one of following eligibility criteria:

    • Long-term unemployed individuals (unemployed for six months or more); or

    • Individuals in need of financial assistance – ComCare, Short-to-Medium Term Assistance (SMTA) recipients or Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) recipients; or

    • Persons with Disabilities

Additionally, individuals can use their SkillsFuture Credit (opening and top-up) and Additional SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career Support) to offset the out-of-pocket course fees for SCTP.
