Dr. Mohan is currently an Assistant Professor with the Engineering Product Development Pillar at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). He received his Ph.D in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and M.Sc in Consumer Electronics degrees from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He obtained his B.E degree from the Amrita Institute of Technology and Sciences, Bharathiar University, India. Before joining SUTD, he was a Lecturer in the School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Singapore Polytechnic.

His research interests are in robotics with an emphasis on self-reconfigurable platforms as well as research problems related to robot ergonomics and autonomous systems. 

Prof Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson served as the Director of the Cornell University Systems Engineering Program. He led the introduction of its online M. Eng. degree program in systems engineering which was subsequently ranked in the top eight such programs by US News and World Report. He has published over thirty articles, primarily in production planning and scheduling, and multi-echelon inventory management. He is the author of an introductory text on systems engineering, Getting Design Right: A Systems Approach. He advised 50 M. Eng. projects over 36 years of service at Cornell. 

Dr Jaclyn Lee

Jaclyn manages Human Resources, Faculty Administration as well as Organisational Development in her current role as Senior Director of HR. She has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources in various industries. and before joining SUTD, was the Senior Vice President of Group Human Resources in a large Temasek-linked Company. Jaclyn also has rich experience in managing large and diverse workforces, as well as HR projects in the Asia Pacific Region. In her prior role in NEC Corp, she was the Regional HR Director and HR Business Expert for the South Asia Region. She also worked in manufacturing plants such as General Motors and Olivetti managing employee relations and communications. She has a Doctor of Philosophy (Phd) in Business Information Systems from University of Twente in the Netherlands, Master of Business from SMU, Master of HRM from Rutgers University and a BSc in Psychology from Brandon University in Canada.

Asst Prof Luo Jianxi

Jianxi Luo was born in Chongqing, China, and holds degrees in mechanical engineering from Tsinghua University in Beijing and engineering systems from MIT in Cambridge, MA. He is currently assistant professor of engineering product development at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), where he leads the Data-Driven Innovation Lab. He is also associate director of the SUTD Technology Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP). Prof. Luo has a strong passion for design, innovation and entrepreneurship in research, teaching and practice. His research applies system theories and network analysis methods to designing products, processes and ecosystems for better chances of innovation. Recent research focuses on developing scientific principles and a data-driven decision support system for concept generation and direction-finding for innovation. He teaches courses on “entrepreneurship”, “innovation”, and “design”, to undergraduate, graduate and executive students from diverse backgrounds. In practice, he was a (co-)founder of several start-ups in the United States. Prior to joining SUTD, he was a faculty member at the Tandon School of Engineering of New York University, a visiting scholar at Columbia University in NYC and the University of Cambridge in UK. He is a chair emeritus of the Technology, Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship Section of INFORMS.

Assoc Prof Arlindo Silva

Arlindo joined SUTD in 2015. Before that, he spent 24 years teaching and doing research at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, University of Lisbon (UL), Portugal, where he taught Materials, Design and other Engineering related topics at all levels of higher education. He has written 2 books and co-edited 2 more, published over 100 articles in journals, conferences and book chapters, and filed over 50 patents with his students on innovative designs. He was also a Senior Materials Education consultant at Granta Design Ltd, Cambridge, UK, and is an active member of the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Design Society (DS), the International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and the Portuguese Society for Engineering Education (SPEE).

Sun Jun's interests lies in developing systematic tools/theories/methodologies for software/system correctness, reliability and efficiency. Sun's current focus is on automated system verification techniques, in particular, model checking. Sun is interested in publishing at the following top-tier conferences and journals: CAV, ICSE, FSE, FM, TACAS, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology, etc. A big part of his recent research is on a model checking framework called PAT. To this date (3.5.14), PAT has attracted more than 3000 registered users from more than 300 organizations. It has been used to teach formal methods and model checking in multiple universities and companies.

Teoh Teik Toe is the Associate Program Director for MSSD Information Systems Technology and Design at SUTD. He had graduated from NTU with a PhD in Computer Engineering. He was a postdoctoral researcher with Cyber Security, Big Data and Deep Learning at SUTD. He took on different roles in the Information Technology field, gradually progressing to programme management profession. Before Teik Toe joined ISTD, he was the Director of NTPM, a manufacturing company.

Nils Tippenhauer is an Assistant Professor at the Information Systems Technology and Design Pillar, SUTD. He is also a adjunct research scientist with the Advanced Digital Sciences Center in Singapore. Nils earned his Dr. Sc. in Computer Science from ETH Zurich (Switzerland) in 2012. Before coming to ETH, Nils received a degree in Computer Engineering (Dipl. Ing.) from the Hamburg University of Technology (Germany) in 2007.

Together with his Secure Cyber-Physical Systems (SCy-Phy) group, Nils is working on information security aspects of practical systems. In particular, Nils is currently working on security analysis of large heterogeneous systems such as (smart) power grids. In addition, Nils is interested in physical layer security aspects of wireless and embedded systems, for example secure ranging, distance measurements and communication using wireless signals.

Assoc Prof Bige Tunçer

Bige Tunçer is an associate professor at Singapore University of Technology and Design. She leads the Informed Design Group, which focuses on data collection, information and knowledge modeling and visualization, for informed architectural and urban design. She has led and participated in various research projects in design computation.
She currently leads a large multi-disciplinary project, investigating multi-modal data collection on user and usage information of public spaces in residential new towns, and develops a design system for the adaptive redesign of such spaces. She has taught many design computation and studio courses to undergraduate and graduate students. Currently she teaches Capstone, where all engineering and architecture students form groups to work on industry defined and funded design projects and develop prototypes.

Prof Kristin Wood

Kristin L Wood is Co-Director of the SUTD-MIT International Design Centre (IDC). He completed his Master’s and Ph.D degrees in Mechanical Engineering (Division of Engineering and Applied Science) at the California Institute of Technology. Prior to joining SUTD, he was the Cullen Trust Endowed Faculty Professor in Engineering and University Distinguished Teaching Professor at The University of Texas at Austin.

Prof Wood’s research focus is in the areas of innovation processes, ideation methods, design-by-analogy, advanced manufacturing processes, such as Solid Freeform Fabrication, methods in product development and innovation, design for manufacturing and tolerance methods, machine-system design, design for product flexibility, design transformer theory, reverse-engineering, and design teaching and learning methods. He has received numerous national and international awards in engineering education, teaching and design research.

Prof David Yau

David Yau obtained the B.Sc. (first class honors) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, all in computer science. He is now Professor in the Information Systems Technology and Design pillar of the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Since 2010, he has been Distinguished Scientist at the Advanced Digital Sciences Center, Singapore, where he is Cybersecurity Program Director. He is also Qiushi Chaired Professor in the Department of Control, Zhejiang University, China. From 1997 to 2013 (on leave 2010-12), he was Assistant Professor then Associate Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University (West Lafayette). In 2004, he was on sabbatical leave as Associate Professor, Computer Science and Engineering, CUHK.

David’s research interests are in network protocol design and implementation, network and cyber-physical system security and privacy, quality of service (QoS), network incentives, and wireless sensor networks. He received an IBM Fellowship and a CAREER award from the U.S. National Science Foundation. He won Best Paper award in 2017 IEEE/ACM Int’l Conf. Information Processing in Sensor Networks (IPSN) and 2010 IEEE Int’l Conf. Multi-sensor Fusion and Integration (MFI). He was Mark Weiser Best Paper finalist of 2013 IEEE Int’l Conf. Pervasive Computing and Communications (PerCom), and Best Paper finalists of 2013 ACM BuildSys, 2013 IEEE Int’l Conf. Cyber-Physical Systems, Networks, and Applications (CPSNA), and 2007 IEEE Int’l Conf. Mobile Ad-hoc and Sensor Systems (MASS).

Prof Zhou Jianying

Prof. Jianying Zhou received PhD in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London. He has rich career experiences, having worked in research institutes, industry, and universities in different countries (China, USA and Singapore). Before joining SUTD, he was a principal scientist and the head of Infocomm Security Department at Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR.

He was a security consultant at the headquarters of Oracle Corporation. He worked at Kent Ridge Digital Labs as a project manager and in National University of Singapore as a post-doctoral fellow. He also worked in Chinese Academy of Sciences as a research engineer. Prof. Zhou’s research interests are in applied cryptography, computer and network security, cyber-physical security, mobile and wireless security. He has published 200+ referred papers at international conferences and journals with 6000+ citations, and received ESORICS’15 best paper award. He has 2 technologies being standardized in ISO/IEC 29192-4 and ISO/IEC 20009-4, respectively. He also has a number of technologies being patented.

Prof. Zhou is a co-founder & steering committee co-chair of International Conference on Applied Cryptography and Network Security (ACNS). He is also steering committee chair of ACM AsiaCCS, and steering committee member of Asiacrypt. He has served 200+ times in international crypto and security conference committees (ACM CCS & AsiaCCS, IEEE CSF, ESORICS, RAID, ACNS, Asiacrypt, PKC, FC etc.) as general chair, program chair, and PC member.

Chow Kok Wah

Chow Kok Wah has more than 30 years of experience in airline and engineering & maintenance operations in the Singapore Airlines Group. He was Senior Vice President in charge of Line Maintenance and Information Technology in the SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), a MRO subsidiary of Singapore Airlines from 2012 to 2015 managing a team of 1,800 personnel and generating almost $400 million in annual revenue. In this capacity, he also supervised SIAEC’s line maintenance subsidiaries and joint venture companies in Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines and Australia which together have a combined personnel strength of 700 and operates in 33 airports in 5 countries.

Kok Wah is currently the General Manager of Air Transport Training College which trains engineers and technicians for the aerospace industry. He remains active in the aviation community. He is the Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE) which represents aerospace professionals and the Honorary Treasurer of the Association of Aerospace Industries of Singapore (AAIS) which represents aerospace companies in Singapore.

Michael Fung is the Group Director (Planning Group) and Chief Data Officer at SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), a public policy and funding agency driving the implementation of the national SkillsFuture movement, promoting lifelong learning and skills mastery, and strengthening Singapore's education and training the ecosystem. He oversees the strategic policy and planning, resource planning, and human resource functions, and also champions the data governance, management, and reporting practices at SSG. Previously, he was the Group Director (Policy Group) and Chief Data Officer at the Singapore Workforce Development Agency.

He holds a doctoral degree from the University of Southern California, USA; bachelor and master degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, USA; and completed two executive programs at Tsinghua University, China.

Dr Koh Yong Khiang

Dr Koh Yong Khiang received his BEng (Hons.) degree in Mechanical Engineering and MSc in Industrial Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 1981 and 1984 respectively. Upon graduation, he worked as a Product Engineer responsible for product failure analysis, design improvement and application of MCAE software in structural stress and dynamics analyses.

Dr Koh Yong Khiang joined Singapore Technologies Kinetics Ltd in March 1994 as a Principal Engineer taking part in the indigenous infantry fighting vehicle design and development programme.

In October 1988, he continued to pursue his postgraduate study & research at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, University of Southampton in UK under the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Scholarship. He graduated with a PhD degree, specializing in Structural Vibration and Control in February 1993.

Dr Koh co-owns a patent titled: A Vibration Reducing Assembly, P-No: 99870, granted on 30th June 2005. The product features a two-stage suspended vibration isolated trooper floorboard which reduces physical fatigue of the troopers and prolongs their combat effectiveness.

Dr Qiu is the founder of USER Experience Researchers Pte Ltd, a leading UX design service company in Asia focusing on user experience. He has over 18 years’ experience in responsive web design, ecommerce, mobile apps design innovation, user experience design and research in world leading MNC and local companies.

He graduated as the first PhD in Singapore in user experience program from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, supervised by Prof Martin Helander and Chui Yong Ping, the worldwide UX pioneer and leader. He has a Master in Industrial Engineering, and Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Zhejiang University, China.

He was professionally trained in interaction design, computer science and management science. He has published more than 30 papers in international conferences and journals, including the Best Paper awards in APCHI, IEEE CIS International Conferences. He was a reviewer of UPA, CHI, and HFES conferences, the president of Usability Professionals’ Association (UPA) Singapore, a member of Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), CHI and IEEE Society, advisory board member for SIM university Human factors program.

Er Dr Mike Teng is the author of the best-selling book "Corporate Turnaround: Nursing a sick company back to health", in 2002. His book is endorsed by management guru Professor Philip Kotler and business tycoons Mr Oei Hong Leong and Dr YY Wong. He had authored twenty seven management books mainly in the productivity and innovation topics.
