Programme outline
Learning objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Navigate Claude’s core interface and apply effective prompting techniques
- Understand Claude’s capabilities and limitations, including where outputs need verification
- Conduct grounded research using web search, extended thinking, and Projects
- Generate and refine written and structured content (documents, spreadsheets, slides)
- Apply the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fluency framework (Effective, Efficient, Ethical, Safe) to real work decisions
- Understand agentic workflows and how Claude can execute multi-step tasks
- Use Claude Cowork to work with Claude directly on files and real projects
- Recognise the basics of Claude Code and how it fits into a development workflow
Day 1
Foundations & interface

- Understand the task loop, plugins & skills
- How to steer and check multi-step work responsibly
Claude code basics
- Understand what Claude Code is
- How it fits a dev workflow and read/follow a basic Claude Code session
Assessment
