Dr. Yutong Cai obtained his PhD degree from National University of Singapore in Civil Engineering (Transportation). Since his PhD graduation, he has been a post-doctoral research fellow at the same institution. Dr. Cai’s research interests lie in optimization, discrete choice modelling, and the application of machine learning in sustainable mobility, active mobility, and maritime studies. His work has been published in prestigious transportation engineering journals such as Transportation Research Parts C/D/E, Transportation, Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, and Applied Energy. Dr. Cai has also contributed to multiple flagship projects funded by the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Singapore Maritime Institute.

Daniel Chan

Mr Daniel Chan, PMP®, APP, is CEO of CO2 Connect Pte Ltd, a specialised digital carbon accounting & management platform for the transport & logistics sector. CO2 Connect is ISO 14064-1 validated Bureau Veritas in carbon accounting methodology and is the first carbon accounting tool in Asia Pacific to be ISO 14083 & GLEC Framework certified by Smart Freight Centre. It is also the only platform in the world that is able to do carbon accounting for all 8 transport modes in conformance with ISO
14083.

 

He is an Industrial IoT and sustainability senior executive with more than 15 years of experience from both the public service and private sector; including real work experience ranging from security to IoT track-and-trace as well as sustainability-related solutions for governments and enterprises across Southeast Asia, Africa and South America. Prior to joining CO2 Connect, Daniel had more than 12 year’s experience in MINDEF and the SAF. He went on to lead the Operations and Professional Services Department in Ascent Solutions Pte Ltd for close to 6 years, specialising in IoT telemetry, data analytics, and customer success.

 

Presently, Daniel is passionate about helping businesses in the transport and logistics sector to do proper carbon accounting to unlock new value at the intersection of logistics efficiency and real climate action.

 

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from the National University of Singapore.  He has more than a decade’s experience in the Singapore Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the
Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) as a security practioner and counter-intelligence officer.

 

He is a certified Project Management Professional PMP) and an Associate Protec>on Professional (APP). He is also an accredited ISO 14064 Certified GHG Accounting Lead Verifier, as well as trained in
ISO 14083 (GHG Quantification and Reporting of Transport Chain Operations) & GLEC (Global Logistics Emission Council) Framework.

Muhammad Luthfi

Dr Muhammad Luthfi, PhD, is Head of Product at CO2 Connect (CO2X) Pte Ltd, a specialised digital carbon accounting & management platform for the transport & logistics sector. He owns product strategy, user experience, and methodology, and is an accredited ISO 14064 GHG Accounting Lead Verifier. CO2 Connect is ISO 14064-1 validated by Bureau Veritas in carbon
accounting methodology and is the first carbon accounting tool in Asia Pacific to be ISO 14083 & GLEC Framework certified by Smart Freight Centre. It is also the only platform in the world that is able to do carbon accounting for all 8 transport modes in conformance with ISO 14083.

 

At CO2 Connect, Luthfi led the platform through its technical validations with Bureau Veritas and Smart Freight Centre, and directs its product methodology, including the uncertainty-quantification approach and
the Transport Chain Emissions and Simulations modules. He translates ISO 14064, ISO 14083, and GLEC Framework requirements into product decisions and user-facing design.

 

Prior to CO2 Connect, Luthfi spent more than 5 years at Ascent Solutions Pte Ltd, an industrial IoT track and trace company. As a Project Manager, he led the development of CANBus data extraction capabilities and scaled the supported-vehicle library to over 250 make/model/year combinations. Other notable projects include a national-level IoT track-and-trace programme which was part of the COVID-19 pandemic response, and oversaw smart telematics deployments covering more than 2,100 vehicles and trailers across over 25 logistics companies in partnership with a local logistics based trade association.

Luthfi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry, both from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

 

He is an accredited ISO 14064 Certified GHG Accounting Lead Verifier, and a consultant in ISO 14083 (GHG Quantification and Reporting of Transport Chain Operations) and the GLEC (Global Logistics Emissions Council) Framework.
