Research

iTrust aims to understand and mitigate threats to cyber-physical systems (CPS) — based on the foundations of control theory, artificial intelligence, axiomatic design, and software engineering.

Research thrusts

The projects awarded to iTrust, including those managed by iTrust under NSoE DeST-SCI, are grouped according to the four research thrusts that we focus on.
Energy
Making our energy systems more secure and trustworthy — as they evolve through digitisation, decarbonisation and decentralisation.
Water
Research in the water sector will include identification anomalies due to faults, failures or cyber-attacks, as well as responses to these anomalies.
Internet of Things (IoT)
The IoT sector focuses on detecting new attack surfaces in IoT devices, and techniques that protect from zero-day attacks.
Transport – Maritime
Addressing cyber threats to shipboard OT systems — propulsion, machinery and power control, comms, navigation, cargo management and more.

NSoE DeST-SCI

The National Satellite of Excellence (NSoE) in Design Science and Technology for Secure Critical Infrastructure (DeST-SCI) is a CSA-supported programme, which focuses on advancing the design of safe and secure critical infrastructure.
