Autonomous shuttle services are starting public service in Singapore soon, and researchers from the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC) had an early opportunity to preview the services in Punggol.

Outdoor play is vital for youth development. Drawing on empirical research of two towns with the highest under age-18 population in Singapore, the playbook presents key findings on what youth do for recreation, how youth experience outdoor play spaces, and what youth aspire to have in outdoor play spaces in the context of Singapore’s high-rise, high-density, tropical urban environment.

On 27th November 2025, Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC) convened a regional workshop bringing together urban researchers, policymakers, and emerging city leaders from across Southeast Asia to co-develop new approaches to tackle the amplifying effects of climate change on existing urban issues currently faced by the region’s rapidly growing cities.

Drawing on ten international case studies and empirical research of Singapore’s Rail Corridor, the Adaptive Reuse of Abandoned Rail Infrastructure Playbook discusses six key dimensions of placekeeping in revitalising disused rail infrastructure into inclusive and sustainable places — partnership and governance, policy, design and management, resourcing, programming, and evaluation.
