Eligibility Strong academic performance in 30.114 Advanced Feedback and Control module. Benefits of award A cash prize of S$1,500. Tenure The award will be given to the most outstanding student in the 30.114 Advanced Feedback and Control module. The top student with the highest overall performance at the end of term 7 will be selected. The selection of the recipient will be made by the faculty teaching the course. THIS AWARD IS MADE POSSIBLE BY: Mr Wan Hong Jim, owner of Focus Optimal, established the Award in honour of his paternal grandmother, Mdm Kwan Chua Eng. Since childhood, Mdm Kwan taught him the importance of perseverance and ingrained in him a sense of morals that has guided him into making the best version of himself. Surviving the Japanese Occupation during World War 2 and subsequently working as a domestic servant when Singapore was a British colony, hers was an epic life story of steely determination. Sadly, she passed away in 1993, but the fruition of her works is evident from the unity, peace and progress exhibited from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mdm Kwan is an inspiration to those around her, exuding genuine kindness and fair treatment within her community. As she had always stressed the value of education, this award hopes to inspire promising young individuals to chase their dreams and be the best that they can be.
