30 women in robotics you need to know about – 2019

08 Oct 2019

Assistant Professor Malika Meghjani has been listed on Robohub as one of the 30 Women in Robotics that you need to know about in 2019.

Her research interests include, multi-robot coordination, decision-making, planning under uncertainty, fleet management, algorithm design, machine learning and computer vision. At SUTD, along with her collaborators at Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology Centre (SMART), she has been developing a novel algorithm for self-driving cars which enables them to analyze and understand the intentions and behaviours of other human drivers to make informed decisions in complex dynamic urban environments.

Malika is also working with another team at SMART to develop integrated multi-modal mobility-on-demand solutions for first-last mile commute using autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles. This particular study will allow for better connectivity to the existing public transport system.

During her spare time, Malika has started sustainable outreach initiatives that continue to attract several high school students towards STEM programs.
