Lianhe Zaobao, 17 Apr 2020, SUTD delays freshmen start date to September 14 (translation)
The start of school term for first year students entering the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) originally scheduled for 18 May, will be postponed till 14 September.

SUTD issued a statement today saying that in accordance with the national efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, SUTD has put in place heightened safe distancing measures, including full home-based learning. Given the impact of the restrictions to on-campus activities and lessons, the University has decided to delay the start of its new school year for the incoming AY2020 cohort.

Students will still complete eight semesters and graduate in May 2024 instead of September 2023. This change will align its academic calendar with the other Autonomous Universities’.

Existing students enrolled in 2019 and earlier will continue their classes according to the existing academic calendar to minimise the impact of the pandemic on their studies.
