Tamil digital news, Seithi and radio station, Oli 96.8FM reported on the SUTD x Armstrong 3D Printing Design Innovation Challenge that was held on 8 June 2022 at SUTD. The aim of the competition was to promote sustainability, in line with Singapore’s plan to produce 30 percent of the nation’s production needs by 2030.
 
Student participant, Chinnakonda Sreeranjith Devasreshtha from Victoria Junior College was interviewed on her experience and thoughts about the competition. She shared that she gained a better understanding of 3D food printing technology through this innovation challenge. She said that it was very difficult to 3D print vegetable waste due to its high water content. Devasreshtha also highlighted that food security was paramount, especially since we depended on other countries for food and this competition made her further appreciate the importance of reducing food waste.
