The Graduate Employment Survey (GES), as at February 2022, showed a strong demand for SUTD graduates with an overall employment rate of 94.7%3 with the highest full-time employment of 91.1% across all surveyed universities. The full-time employment rate increased over 10% from 80.9% in 2020.

Among those who are full-time permanently employed, 98.1% (an increase from 94.4% in 2020) received at least one job offer, while 44% received multiple job offers. 24% received return job offers arising from their internships.

The mean gross monthly salary among SUTD’s fresh graduates employed in full-time permanent employment increased to $4,730 in 2021, compared to $4,369 in 2020; and the median gross monthly salary increased to $4,500 in 2021, compared to $4,100 in 2020.

Some of the top hiring sectors include Information & Communication, Financial & Insurance, and Scientific Research & Development.

416 full-time and 82 follow-up graduates8 from SUTD were surveyed in February 2022 and the overall response rates obtained were 82.0% and 78.0% respectively.

3. Employment rates refer to the number of graduates employed as a proportion of graduates in the labour force (i.e. those who were working, or not working but actively looking and available for work) as at 25 February 2022 (i.e. approximately six months after completing their final examinations).

4. Employment refers to graduates working on a full-time permanent, part-time, temporary or freelance basis.

5. Full-time permanent employment refers to employment of at least 35 hours a week and where the employment is not temporary. It includes those on contracts of one year or more.

6. Basic monthly salary pertains only to full-time permanently employed graduates. It comprises basic pay before deduction of the employee’s CPF contributions and personal income tax. Employer’s CPF contributions, bonuses, stock options, overtime payments, commissions, fixed allowances, other regular cash payments, lump sum payments, and payments-in-kind are excluded.
