KKH — SUTD Scholarship

Through the generous support of Mr Kuok Khoon Hong, this Scholarship is available to outstanding undergraduates pursuing their studies at SUTD.

ELIGIBILITY

The Scholarship is open to All Nationalities who

  • are full-time undergraduate students enrolled in any of SUTD’s undergraduate degree programmes;

  • have good academic standing;

  • demonstrated financial need with monthly household Per Capita Income of S$2,500 and below;

  • are active in Fifth Row, and demonstrate leadership potential and community involvement; and

  • believe in giving back to society.

BENEFITS OF AWARD

  • The Scholarship is valued at up to S$15,000 per academic year and is tenable for one (1) Academic Year. The recipient will be eligible to be re-awarded the Scholarship once, i.e. for a total Scholarship duration of two (2) years.
  • The Scholarship offers financial support towards the annual subsidised tuition fees and other study-related expenses.
  • Successful recipients may be granted internship and/or career opportunities with the donor’s designated companies.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • The recipient is required to achieve and maintain good academic standing. Academic performance will be reviewed every term. 

  • Recipients are strongly encouraged to uphold the donor’s values of paying-it-forward by contributing back a pledged sum equal to one-fifth of the scholarship sum received to SUTD towards the Scholarship to help future generations of SUTD students.

  • Pledged contributions will commence one year upon graduation, payable in full or over a maximum period of 3 years.

  • Recipients are required to complete at least 10 hours of service to the University. They may take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing SUTD to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc., as and when called upon to do so.

  • Recipients may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships or grants.

  • The scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of the University, the recipient’s academic progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory.

  • If the recipient decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, SUTD reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

  • Existing students who are eligible will be invited to apply via MyPortal.

  • Late and incomplete submissions will not be processed.

  • Scholarships are awarded on the basis of competition among eligible applicants.

  • SUTD reserves the right not to award any scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.
