PayPal — SUTD Women Luminaries Programme

Supported by PayPal, the PayPal — SUTD Women Luminaries Programme is available to outstanding female undergraduates pursuing their studies at SUTD.


ELIGIBILITY

The Programme is open to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents who

  • are in their Freshmore or Sophomore year, enrolled in the Computer Science and Design (CSD) degree programme at SUTD;

  • have good academic standing;

  • possess strong leadership potential, integrity, good character, community spirit and upholds strong moral values;

  • have a demonstrable track record of contributing to the technology community, and has a vision of contributing to the Singapore technology innovation landscape.

  • ​Active Fifth Row and community involvement will be advantageous


BENEFITS OF AWARD

  • The Programme is valued at S$12,000 per annum, tenable for one year of study.

  • The quantum will be used towards the recipient’s annual subsidised tuition fees.

  • ​Recipients may reapply to be considered for the programme in their subsequent year of study, subject to good academic standing and other terms.

  • No bond is required under the terms of this Programme. The recipient must take up the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) from the Singapore Government to enjoy subsidised fees.


TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • The recipient will be encouraged to pursue internship, mentorship and other holistic opportunities with the Donor or its affiliated companies (subject to availability and selection).

  • The recipient is required to achieve and maintain good academic standing. Academic performance will be reviewed every term.

  • Recipients are required to complete at least 10 hours of service to the University. They may take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing SUTD to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc., as and when called upon to do so.​

  • Recipients shall not, concurrently with this programme, hold any other scholarships, awards, bursaries, grants or other allowances of a monetary nature without the prior approval of the University.

  • The University reserves the right to revoke or suspend the programme if/when it deems fit, for example, if the conduct of the recipient (past and present) comes under scrutiny or if the academic progress of the recipient is considered unsatisfactory.

  • If the recipient decides to terminate the programme prematurely, SUTD reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.


APPLICATION PROCEDURES

  • Existing students who are eligible will be invited to apply via MyPortal.

  • Late and incomplete submissions will not be processed.

  • The programme is awarded on the basis of competition among eligible applicants.

  • SUTD reserves the right not to award the programme if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.
