With Asia's rapid urbanisation, the traditional top-down approach to architectural design and urbanism is becoming irrelevant. Artificial Design offers a bottom-up solution that creates a better world for all to live in. Algorithms and environmental data drive the design process, resulting in architectural and urban forms that are environmentally sensitive and tune in with the geographical context. Artificial Design dissects, analyses and recomposes traditioanl building typologies as algorithmic code to enable them to adapt and grow based on ecological circumstances. Fast urbanising regions in Asia serve as case studies for the testing of alogorithmic design strategies, aiding the work of architects and urban planners.
