DIVE Global Immersion (DGI)
Overseas experiential learning across Asia
The DIVE Global Immersion (DGI) programmes are part of SUTD’s broader DIVE (Design·AI Innovation and Venture Exploration) emphasis on applied, immersive, and globally connected learning.
DGI offers overseas learning experiences that enable SUTD undergraduate students to explore organisations, industries, and local contexts across Asia.
Through site visits, discussions with organisations, and collaborative learning sessions, students gain first-hand insights into how ideas, systems, and initiatives are implemented in different environments. In line with DIVE, these experiences complement classroom learning by allowing students to observe how organisations operate, how challenges are addressed in practice, and how solutions are applied in real-world settings.

Featured programmes and student experiences
Chongqing University (1-week programme)
This 8-day immersion at Chongqing University challenges students to develop AI solutions for real-world problems. Participants will engage in hands-on prototyping, receive mentorship from industry experts, and explore Chongqing’s start-up ecosystem through company visits and lab tours.
With a focus on practical applications, the experience connects technical development with entrepreneurial opportunities in China’s growing AI sector.
During the GEO* Programme at Chongqing University, I worked on the panda robot project where I was exposed to their advanced robotics models.
Experiencing Chongqing’s unique geographical conditions… gave me a clearer understanding of the daily struggles faced by the elderly.

Mahidol University (2-week programme)
This two-week immersive programme introduces you to Thailand’s innovation landscape through workshops, industry visits, and cultural activities. Students explore sustainability, AI, entrepreneurship, and more alongside Mahidol mentors and peers.
The experience culminates in an Innovation & Impact Pitch, where teams present real-world solutions to academics and industry practitioners.
The GEO* programme in Indonesia was an eye-opening experience that went far beyond the classroom… What made the experience truly memorable was the collaboration — working under the sun, supporting each other, and learning as a team.
