Undergraduate

Residential living is an integrated part of the SUTD Freshmore experience, complementing cohort-based learning within and outside of the classroom. It is thus compulsory for undergraduate students to live in the hostel for their first two terms, and a considerable number of hostel places have been set aside for them.

The remaining undergraduate places are allocated according to the undergraduate housing allocation scheme, a ground-up initiative by a committee consisting of student leaders. The scheme aims to create a safe hostel environment as well as a vibrant hostel community interacting with and supporting one another, while achieving a good mix of local and international students within the hostel. Refer to the undergraduate housing allocation scheme (login required) for more information.

Undergraduates who wish to stay at the University's student housing blocks after Term 2 should submit their applications online during the main housing application exercise held each February. A supplementary housing exercise may be conducted in November for students who wish to stay from the January term, subject to vacancies. Information on the housing exercises will be published on this webpage one week before the start of each exercise.
