Achievements

Social Network Analysis and Mining (SNAM) is a prominent Springer Nature journal focused on multidisciplinary research covering social network analysis, mining, and social media analytics.

SUTD participated in the AAAI-26 held at Singapore Expo from 20 – 27 January 2026, with a booth showcasing cutting-edge AI technologies developed at the university. Faculty from ISTD were present to share their research with conference attendees, and Head of Pillar (ISTD) Professor Li Xiaoli, was also a keynote speaker for the Graphs and more Complex Structures for Learning and Reasoning (GCLR) workshop during the conference.

Prof Li Xiaoli was invited to speak at the AI Factory Hackathon 2025 on 16 December 2025, held in Seoul, where he delivered a presentation titled “AI for Smart Manufacturing: Making of Sensor Time Series – An Introduction to Singapore’s Time Series Foundation Models.”

Professor Zhou Jianying has been recognised as an IEEE Fellow for his contributions to applied cryptography and cyber-physical system security.

For pioneering graphene-based plasmonic biosensors and quantum plasmonics, introducing plasma-inspired simulations that advanced quantum plasma modeling in solid-state systems.

In the latest “World’s Top 2%” scientists list released by Stanford University in September 2025, SUTD faculty were listed across fields including artificial intelligence & image processing, networking & telecommunications, optics and applied physics.

Assistant Professor Peng Song and his co-authors have won the Best Paper Award at the Shape Modeling International (SMI) 2025.

ESD PhD alumnus Wayne Ng, current PhD student Marcus Koh and Assistant Prof Nuno Ribeiro were awarded by the Air Transportation Section at the INFORMS Annual Meeting.

Dr Li Xiaoli, was invited to speak at a panel discussion titled “AI and GenAI in Finance: Unlocking Inclusion through Innovation”, part of the Digital Financial Inclusion Conference 2025 that was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Held at the Singapore Management University, the conference is a premier event uniting researchers, engineers, industry experts, and students in exploring cutting-edge developments in prognostics and health management.
